MANDY LANE (Keep on Truckin Mama)

There's a sun-down girl called Mandy Lane.
She's a free-lovin mama on a high Flyin plane.
Gentlemen call at her front gate.
You can hear them callin both early and late.
Keep on truckin Mama Truckin til the break of day.
Keep on truckin Mama truckin those blue away.
You're the best truck driver this end of town
and you do your truck drivin from your hips on down.
Keep on truckin mama, truckin those blues away.

Keep on doin what you did last night
they're gonna throw you back in jail.
Keep on doin what you did last night
they're gonna throw you back in jail.
You come to the door just a raisin sand.
They can tell what you been doin
by the way you stand.
Keep on truckin mama, truckin those blues away.

Now big industry came to our town.
We got profit and progress all way round.
We got a new cotton gin and a plastics plant.
And a sign in Mandy's window down at Forth and Grand.
It says, I cain't sell it gonna keep sittin on it
never catch me givin it away
I cain't sell it gonna keep sittin on it
never catch me givin it away.
I don't care if your name's Richard, Bill, or Tom.
You come to my door its Hello John.
I cain't sell it gonna keep sittin on it
never catch me givin it away

I cain't move it out on the open market
Gonna take all my bidness back home.
I cain't move it out on the open market
Gonna take all my bidness back home.
I don't care how keen the competition may be.
Never catch me givin samples way for free.
I cain't sell it gonna keep sittin on it
never catch me givin it away.
I say.
Never catch me givin it away.
Well hardly ever.
Never catch me givin it away.

Well there you have it as best memory serves. I would post the chords, but I
have been playing this thing so long I don't even think about what they are. I
do it in C.

Chords would be (as I remember them)CEADGC, CEADG, C..C7..F...F#Dim7, CEADGC

"Raising sand" was an expression common in many blues songs, it means stirring
up trouble, usually with sexual connotations. Related are the expressions "sand
foot" and "fan foot" as in "fan foot floozy", meaning a loose woman.
