I got the free Java chat client from an IBM developer and the previous one seemed to expire. As long as we are forced to use this free shit, it's going to be somewhat unpredictable. Anyhow, one of my magnificent programmers has devoloped a pretty nifty new one that makes all the others look like... well, shit. We will try to have it available with THE NEW MUDCAT when it is available. Otherwise, soon after. Hang in there gang, it will be worth it!

I tried getting there via the blue clicky thingy above, and got an error message. Could someone please tell me what URL to type in to go to the chat room. I haven't been there in a long time.....since back when there used to be a spot at the top of the Mudcat page leading me there. Thanks.

I've tried the chat address and all I get is the Mudcat headline...a magazine dedicated to....etc. nothing else on the screen. what could be the problem? I've used irc.chats in the past with no problem.

It can take a bit to load... at peak times on my 28k modem, it's taken over a minute...

I have not included an official link to this chat because I really don't like what we're using. When the update happens, our own pantleg (one of my programmers) has wrote a really very nifty thing. Hang in there guys.

Liam's Sister-in-Law strapped her surfboard to the roof of the station wagon (estate car) and disappeared down 19th Street. I came up and decided I'd try to chat tonight.

Response after about 10 minutes was that my nickname was no good (invalid, not recognized or some such). I have never computer chatted before and my will not start tonight.

Hi if you are on mIRC you need a new nickname probably because someone is already online using it at the moment

type /nick (whatever your new one is)

see if that works
