I'm sure Greg Stephens won't mind me advertising the fact that tickets for the Boat Band's 20th Annoversary concert on September 30th at the New Vic Theatre, Newcastle-under-Lyme, are now available. The box office gave me a call this morning, so I've got mine - and I'm really looking forward to the evening.

Buy tickets now, you know it makes sense. Actually, buying now will benefit people in two ways(quite apart from cheering up the Boat Band). Firstly, if you buy now, you will get one. You may not later, because I imagine it will sell out, there are only 350-odd tickets.
Secondly, the sooner we know a lot of tickets have been sold,the sooner we can book the surprise guests! So, the earlier the tickets sell, the more interesting the bill.

Here is the relevant info...half tickets now sold, so get in soon if you want one!

The Boat Band set sail from Glasson Dock, near Lancaster, for adventure in the Scottish islands in the summer of 1989. Twenty years on, we are still at it. And we are having a grand get-together to prove it. Do come. See the old band that sailed in Harbinger that summer.. See the current band. Laugh at the old pictures. Enjoy the rumbas, reels, jigs, rags, shanties, two steps, blues, waltzes. There is still a place for piracy in the world.

Tickets £12.50 and £14.50 from the New Vic box office as the other man said (under 16s free if they come with an adult)
If you like dancing, suggest you book seats in the front row, or on an aisle! Save trampling on too many toes on your way to the floor.

This is at the New Vic Theatre, Newcastle-under-Lyme(next to Stoke-on-Trent). And the capacity sems to be about 250, not 350 as I claimed early. Four weeks to go, and they have sold 141 tickets so far. So if you want one, might be an idea to buy soon.

This will be a quite simply a brilliant evening of songs and tunes. I would go but my wife has to go to Peru and someone has to go with her. I urge anybody, folkie or otherwise to get tickets and go
