Subject: Tech: iTunes poltergeist From: Janie Date: 05 Dec 09 - 09:52 PM Last night, iTunes started opening itself and playing music every few minutes. In addition, and I think it is related to iTunes doing it's own thing, the volume control started randomly poppng up and adjusting volume, even when nothing was playing. No problems all day today, then it started happening again a little while ago. I rebooted last night, and again a little while ago, and that seems to stop it from happening for a while. I've done a google search, and this is apparently a fairly common problem. However, it doesn't seem to be a problem for which anyone has found a clear cause or fix. There was talk of 3rd party apps that might be causing it, but I don't have any of the apps mentioned. Flip4Mac is the only 3rd party app that I run. My computer is a Mac, running OS X 10.4.11. The problem apparently occurs with PC's also running both XP and Vista, and with at least Safari, IE and Firefox. Any ideas? |

Subject: RE: Tech: iTunes poltergeist From: Amos Date: 05 Dec 09 - 10:04 PM That is really strange misconduct!! Check your settings for "repeat" under iTunes "Controls". Set them to "none" and see if that resolves it. Also make sure you aren' streaming a feed from somewhere, altho' I assume these are not streamed files you are hearing. I swan... A |
