I thought that, as they are now well established, I ought to have a proper name for them.

BULLSESSIONS!

When:FOURTH TUESDAY EACH MONTH - 8.30pm till 11.00pm
Where:The Bull Public House, Junction Malling Road/High Street, Snodland, KENT
What:Acoustic music and song. (Folk, Blues, Country, 60s, 70s, etc.)
Who:Anybody who wants to sing, play, listen, or all three!
WHY?:Because it's a damn good way to spend an evening among nice people in a friendly atmosphere, doing something you will enjoy.

The beer is good, and still inexpensive at £2.35 a pint. So why not join us.

This is now a solidly established session, with a regular attendance of 10-15 locals, and some very welcome performers from the surrounding towns, who drop in when they can.

It's a good night out, so why not give it a try.

NEXT MEETING TONIGHT! 8.00pm- 11.00pm

BTW, there is now usually a guest real ale at a reasonable price, depending on how fast the locals have disposed of it. Delivery day being Thursday, it doesn't ALWAYS last till Tuesday.

The standard Courage best is still cheap at £2.35 a pint, and the quality is above average, thanks to the landlord.

Likely attenders:- Maidstone violinist, Penny....Rustic Ramblers...,.Keith (aka "Paddy") with his bagpipes, and hosts Norman Brooks ("Brooksie"), and Don Thompson ("Wysiwyg").

Don T.

I might give that a whirl and practise my few Scottish songs again. If I bring a separate guitar tuned ever so slightly flat and park multicapos in Ab I could play along with Paddy's tartan octopus!

My tuner has a switch which gives, so I'm told, a semitone flat tuning. Maybe that's why.

Clive unfortunately can't make it. A pity, because his keyboard can produce quite credible pipes.

If you can make it you'll be very welcome.

Miss Otis.

On the way out to collect a new sofa for Benjamin earlier I discovered a HUGE new pothole in the Grain Road (concealed by black standing water the colour of tarmac) that wrote off a tyre and wheel, and of course I was in the Volvo that I had taken the spare wheel out of for complicated reasons so I had to phone a friend to get taken back to Lower Coke to go out again with spare wheels jacks and tools, only to find that the wheelnuts had been done up by a retard with an air spanner - so got back again about 2015, have just eaten and decided that fire and sofa are calling.

My condolences Richard. I had the same problem about five years ago, and it cost a bloody fortune. Two new alloys, two tyres, and a complete overhaul of the suspension.

It probably will seem like rubbing salt in the wound, but I DO have to thank all those who attended the busiest night since we started these sessions, over two years ago, with about thirty performers and audience.

With every kind of instrument from shaky eggs to bagpipes, and an enthusiastic response from the pub regulars, I'd have to regard it as the best session yet, and the landlord and landlady seemed to think so too.

So thanks a million to everyone for making it so successful.

Next session is Tuesday 23rd Feb, followed (thanks to the vaguaries of the calendar) by Tuesday 23rd March.

See you then
Don T.

Alas Volvo Pholus alloys have been unavailable from Volvo for years but I found one good and one acceptable second hand at Braydons to replace the one ruined - there was a dink in the bead and the whole wheel was both pissed and oval: not by much, but enough. I also turned out to have a spare steel wheel that was for the right Volvo and a spare 195/65/15 (separately) so I am now rolling and be-spared with non-matching cosmetically but the right size and shape wheels and tyres - and have written a Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells letter to the Highways authority.

The bugger of it was that the tyre destroyed was the Uniroyal Rallye 540 you gave me that had about 200 road miles on it!

I can't wait till we retire to Kent. All the wunnerful weekday folk sessions will then be doable.
