Subject: Lyrics, music &chords From: Colleen Date: 28 Mar 97 - 03:55 PM Some of the word go like this:"I've got to be good, so I can see my baby when I leave this world." I think Ricky Nelson sang the song. His girl friend dies when he wrecks his car. Thanks for your help! |

Subject: Lyr Add: THE LAST KISS From: Barry Finn Date: 29 Mar 97 - 02:17 AM I think it's called THE LAST KISS. I don't know who did it originally but Sha Na Na recorded it later. I'll try to do my best at recalling what I can.
I was out on a date in my Daddy's car
CHORUS: Oh, where, oh, where can my baby be?
When I woke up the rain was pouring down, It's starting to fade, sorry, hope it helps. |

Subject: RE: So I've got to be good" From: Colleen Date: 29 Mar 97 - 10:26 AM Thanks Barry, that is the song! Now if someone could tell me who wrote it, or sang it. I'm trying to get some favorite songs together for my friends to play on the guitar, and they seem to think they need chords to go with the lyrics, and music when they forget the right tune:) |

Subject: RE: Colleen From: Keith Rawlings Date: 03 Apr 97 - 10:55 PM I saw your query a few weeks ago, and was determined to help you, this being a memorable song for me. I now have some answers for you, with help of an excellent book "That Old Time Rock & Roll: A Chronicle of an Era", by Richard Aquila, 1989. The song "Last Kiss" was released in 1964, and was performed by Frank J. Wilson and the Cavaliers. The lyrics given by Barry Finn above seem correct, but there are more verses, though. Can't help you there. As far as the chords go, C, A minor, F, and G are used for the entire song, including the chorus. |

Subject: RE: From: Keith Date: 04 Apr 97 - 12:15 AM Oops! That should be J. Frank Wilson, NOT Frank J. Sorry. |

Subject: RE: From: Rodney Rawlings Date: 04 Apr 97 - 04:49 PM Hi, bro! Where have you been all these years? |

Subject: Lyr Add: THE LAST KISS From: jhill@plix.com Date: 07 Apr 97 - 01:28 PM Keith Rawlings' information is correct. Barry Finn's lyrics are 95%. Here's the last verse:
...But I found my baby somehow that night. The chords seem to be correct also. I use to play that song at high school parties in the late sixties! The song was kinda camp but fun! Thanks for taking me back to the 1964 memory lane. And now, how about something from the Bobby Fuller Five? I can be contacted at my E-mail address. J. Hill |

Subject: RE: LYRIC MISTAKE From: JHILL@PLIX.COM Date: 14 Apr 97 - 01:48 PM Coleen, while humming this tune this weekend I found I made slight mistake. It should be: I held her close, I kissed her our last kiss, (I) found the love I know I would miss... hope this helps! |
