I am afraid I don't have a full score. I have a musical note not for violin but for piano which is a C instrument, too. This note was published by James S. Kerr Music Publishers in Glasgow in 1952. It's not bad. I think the best way to show you the note is to send it by FAX. Or I can send a photocopy straightly to you by mail. Could you send your FAX number or address to ?

I hope this can help you.

with regards

TERU,

Thanks for your assistance; if you can't send it as an attachment to my E-mail address, please mail me a copy (no personal faxes at work, you know!) at J. Hill, P.O. Box 1234 Kettle Falls, WA 99141.

I dont Know why it is so hard to find this piece.

sincerely,

JHill

Well, if you put Scotland the Brave into one of our search boxes, you'll come up with lots of stuff. The basic song and MIDI are here (click) in the Digital Tradition. We don't have sheet music here, but there's a Digital Tradition Mirror (click) that turns our tunes into sheet music.
Hope that does the trick for you.
Can anybody point to full-blown sheet music the requestor can find?

I have three verses for this song, copied from a friend's sheet music many years ago (some words differ from those in the DT). A web search has also produced a fourth verse. The lyrics are unattributed in the DT, but are still in copyright, written by Cliff Hanley. Here is the complete set, with chords:

SCOTLAND THE BRAVE
(Lyrics: Cliff Hanley; Melody: old Scottish pipe tune)

[C]Hark when the night is falling
Hear! hear the pipes are calling
[F]Loudly and [C]proudly calling
[D7]Down through the [G7]glen
[C]There where the hills are sleeping
Now feel the blood a-leaping
[F]High as the [C]spirits
Of the [G7]old Highland [C]men

Chorus:
[G7]Towering in gallant fame
[F]Scotland my [C]mountain hame
[Am]High may your [Em]proud standards
[D7]Gloriously [G7]wave
[C]Land of my high endeavour
Land of the shining river
[F]Land of my [C]heart for ever
[G7]Scotland the [C]brave

High in the misty Highlands
Out by the purple islands
Brave are the hearts that beat
Beneath Scottish skies
Wild are the winds to meet you
Staunch are the friends that greet you
Kind as the love that shines
From fair maidens' eyes

Far off in sunlit places
Sad are the Scottish faces
Yearning to feel the kiss
Of sweet Scottish rain
Where tropic skies are beaming
Love sets the heart a-dreaming
Longing and dreaming
For the homeland again

Hot as a burning ember
Flaming in bleak December
Burning within the hearts
Of clansmen afar
Calling to home and fire
Calling the sweet desire
Shining a light that beckons
From every star
