The Music Institute Club will be welcoming Ruth Notman,a young singer/songwriter from Nottingham this Friday, November 6th. Ruth was a finalist in the 2007 BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards and shortly afterwards recorded her debut album, Threads,with assistance fromSaul Rose, Roger Wilson and Bella Hardy. The CD was released in November 2007 and created quite a stir, including 4 Star reviews in The Guardian and Mojo Magazine. Her recently released follow up album
The Life Of Lilly, a mix of traditional material, self-penned songs and cover versions looks to continue in the same vein.
