NASTY little rascals - I had thousands and thousands going back to 2004.

They were buried at the ninth level in Windows...........Macromedia

They were VERY difficult to remove (multiple Windows 98 crashes with "runtime 32 errors."

Yes, I use:
CCleaner
Z-Labs
Ad-aware
etc. etc.

My platform Win 98 (upgraded from 95)
The Browser Firefox with everythin shut off.

While "illegal" in the UK ... you Brits may have unknowingly given "permission
when you accessed web sources such as "The Financial Times of London."

I became aware after looking for information about the new presidential "Cadillac Tank." I began receiving leads to "new cars" when a map was brought up.
They are used by NBC, Hulu, You Tube, the White House, and thousands of others.
(Tom-Tom, and Magellon, will reveal other "units in the area" along with
"helpful information" like banks, restaurants, gas etc. and all the routes ever researched or traveled. The spotting of other units in the area is their creepy part.

Regarding, "Flash Cookies" Try a "find" search on your internet machine for *.sol files (how appropriate a name!)

Sept 15 ... 2010 WSJ article Google Analytics - ) wants Facebook to become "open source" and
to spew the Facebook database....for better "social networking."
A lawsuit filed in 2010 July with the US District Court - Central California
alleges a pattern of "covert online surveeilance."
It is a class-action by the same lawyer J. Malley who won a 9.6 million
settlement against Facebook.

Only TWO Mudcat posts have even made passing reference to this strange phenomenon.

The worst part .... they ARE zomies ... you remove "SOL's"(with great difficulty) and at
re-boot they appear again through the BAK files.

Fascinating to see where they all connect to - most are kind enough to leave a site addres.
