Subject: Radio: Max Waxes On From: Max Date: 01 Sep 99 - 11:55 PM I've decided to start a new THING (best I can think of now). Since I have no life what-so-ever, I spend many a night here at the office in which the Mudcat resides. Might as well, seeing that I find all the things I thought wouldn't work did, broadcast as much as possible. So, I devised a nice little alert to let you know I am here and broadcasting to my hearts content. I do not profess to be entertaining nor appropriate (for occasionally I pop into the bar downstairs and have one or thirty) but I can be live. You'll know it when you see it, and I'll call it "Max Waxes On". I'll try to be in the chat as it goes too. And oh, by the way, use ours when available (we'll perfect it one of these days) cause it does us no good for ya all to be somewhere else talking about us. Oh, and I'll tell you for sure that "Max Waxes On" will never be archived (for liable reasons I'm sure), so you'll just have to catch it live. Gee is that it now?... |

Subject: RE: Radio: Max Waxes On From: Alice Date: 02 Sep 99 - 12:11 AM My Dad and his brothers worked on the section crews of the Great Northern Railroad in the early part of this century, and they froze through the Montana winters, worked in the dangerous times.(listening to ... go and oil that car). I did a painting in the series that I did of my family from my mother's old photographs from the 30's and 40's with my dad standing near railroad tracks and the front end of a side car. neat to hear the railroading music. |

Subject: RE: Radio: Max Waxes On From: Date: 02 Sep 99 - 12:16 AM Now I've got your voice on real audio--Max--don't type, just speak. But I can't get the chat room to work. I've got an open window, a thing that says "click here to exit" and no way of typing in amessage that I can figure out. --Charlie Baum |

Subject: RE: Radio: Max Waxes On From: Max Date: 02 Sep 99 - 12:18 AM Charlie, the chat is a serious beta (test). We tried to rush it for the show tonight. We will be perfecting it over the next week and two. |

Subject: RE: Radio: Max Waxes On From: Alice Date: 02 Sep 99 - 12:23 AM This is really great to hear you playing music from the Mudcat. It could really be an incentive for people to order recordings, when they can hear a sample from the CD's and tapes available through the Mudcat site. |

Subject: RE: Radio: Max Waxes On From: j0_77 Date: 02 Sep 99 - 01:35 AM Hey Max I heard ya :) Great :) Did not think my puter would get this Ra stuff with out crashing - but it worked just fine - Love the bit I heard - more more more. *M*A*X* |

Subject: RE: Radio: Max Waxes On From: Joe Offer Date: 02 Sep 99 - 03:44 AM The archive seems to be working pretty darn well, Max. I'm listening at 12:45 AM Pacific time, and it's still stopping occasionally on my 28.8 connection because of "network congestion." The sound quality is excellent - but maybe reducing quality would reduce the stop-and-go. Later in the show, there were no problems with congestion, so maybe you got it fixed. I'd say it was an excellent first effort. -Joe Offer- |

Subject: RE: Radio: Max Waxes On From: KingBrilliant Date: 02 Sep 99 - 04:24 AM I'm listening to and watching the archive. It's really great!!! It's amazing to actually see & hear you. I bet you get buckets of phone calls next time. Its a bugger about the time diff'rence tho. Will you be doing an archive each time?? please..... Kris |

Subject: RE: Radio: Max Waxes On From: Tony Burns Date: 02 Sep 99 - 07:59 AM The archive is working just fine. (Hope my boss doesn't find out. :-)) Thanks Max, Bert and Gus (who I managed to chat with briefly around 7:00 last night). |

Subject: RE: Radio: Max Waxes On From: Tony Burns Date: 02 Sep 99 - 08:27 AM Just listening to the closing songs on the archive. Great job guys, I'm looking forward to next week. The only suggestion I would make at this point is that you try to increase the light in the area covered by the camera. |

Subject: RE: Radio: Max Waxes On From: katlaughing Date: 02 Sep 99 - 12:37 PM Cara, At the bottom of one of the pages, I think the radio one, Max has a link which will take you to a site where you can downlaod the updated version of RA. |

Subject: RE: Radio: Max Waxes On From: bob schwarer Date: 02 Sep 99 - 01:35 PM Great start, Max. No trouble getting the archive. Looking forward to next week. (Well I guess I can't look back to next week until after next week & catch the archive again.) Bob S.

Subject: RE: Radio: Max Waxes On From: Sandy Paton Date: 02 Sep 99 - 05:59 PM Apparently the G2 version requires more speed that my old computer can muster. I limp along at 100 and the RA site says I need twice that. So much for me. I guess I'll have to miss Mad Max and his Marvelous Medley of Misplaced Mudcatters. Ah, woe is me! Grandpa Paton |
|
Subject: RE: Radio: Max Waxes On From: Bill D Date: 02 Sep 99 - 06:19 PM yep, Sandy...the RA folk have NO use for those who are not right up to date...(funny...2-3 years ago, we never DREAMED of doing this...now we consider it a necessity..*grin*) |
