Subject: sessions:Santa Clara CA & Burlington MA? From: Liam Devlin Date: 24 Sep 99 - 03:19 PM I have just accepted some work which will be getting me out to both coasts on occasions and I would love to know how to find acoustic music sessions in both Santa Clara CA and Burlingtin MA. How do I go about finding a session in either or both place/s? |

Subject: RE: sessions:Santa Clara CA & Burlington MA? From: Barry Finn Date: 25 Sep 99 - 09:30 PM Hi Liam, There's a singing session Wed. at Paddy Burke's on Portland St. (3rd floor) Boston. I'll most likely be heading there (I've e-mailed Moonchild she was planing on being near Boston at the same time) & I pass Burlington on the way (it's only 10 min. at the most outside of Boston) so if you want I can swing by & take you to & fro. Tue & Wed & Thru there's a session at the Burren in Somerville (not very high on my list of places) theres' also sessions at Mat Murphy's in Brookline & Mr. Dooley's in downtown, one's on Tue & one's on Thru but I don't know which is which. Subject: RE: sessions:Santa Clara CA & Burlington MA? From: Date: 26 Sep 99 - 11:44 AM Barry - Thanks for the info. I will not finalize my Boston trip plans until Monday, perhaps even Tuesday, but at this point I believe I will be in Burlington Wed night. If so I will definiately take you up on your kind offer. I will post to this thread on Mon and Tuesday. By the way, what sort of music is played at the session? |

Subject: RE: sessions:Santa Clara CA & Burlington MA? From: Barry Finn Date: 26 Sep 99 - 09:06 PM Hi Liam, at the Tues & Thrus sessions it's Irish instrumental with a bit of singing. The one run by Shay & Mick would have far more singing you could call those places to find out whose running them On the Wed session it's singing only, bring instruments if you want but no tunes. The singing leans a little towards Irish seeing that a fair amout are Irish but it doesn't matter it's all kinds of folk we're aiming for. Barry |

Subject: RE: sessions:Santa Clara CA & Burlington MA? From: JedMarum Date: 29 Sep 99 - 02:02 AM It looks like it ain't going to happen tomorrow, after all! The folks I am going to see just can't seem to get it together. You think they'd make their business plans around my music interests!! We'll see though. It may still happen or even may happen next week instead. |
