Subject: Lyr Req: Firemen song on a 78 RPM record From: GUEST Date: 02 Oct 12 - 03:07 PM I remember playing a record as a kid that part of the chorus was: Fire, fire, fire, hear the people shout, Where are the firemen who put the fire out. On one side, a big fire is burning and a little fire is burning. The big firemen go to the little fire and the little firemen go to the big fire. When you turn the record over, both sets of firemen realize that they are at the wrong fire. The story ends after the big firemen put out the big fire, the little firemen put out the little fire, and everyone goes back to their firehouses. I think the verse may have been read but the chorus was sung. I know that a man was telling the story. |

He's only twenty-four years old; He puts out fires. He went to fight a fire one night When somebody shouted DYNAMITE! Wherever he is he'll be alright; He puts out fires. |
