I thought it warranted being put here and took the liberty of copying it. Might be a good test of the Mudcat communities resourse base. Rana Here's a good one. Any Canadian folksongs in FRENCH that mention LAKE ONTARIO.

Subject: RE: Songs in French mentioning Lake Ontario From: Bill Cameron Date: 17 Nov 99 - 05:02 PM Closest I can think of is "Wreck of the Julie Plante", by William Henry Drummond, which however is (a)not in French--it's in English with a supposed Quebecois accent (b)not about Lake Ontario--but it's on Lake St Clair, "Wan dark night on Lake St Clair, the wind she blow, blow, blow.
