Subject: The End--AGAIN! From: Mbo Date: 23 Feb 00 - 06:31 PM Well folks, you've done it again! Give yerselves a big ol' round of applause. The Lyric Quote of the Day is hereby ended. I should have known you were all lying when you thought it was a good idea. Thanks for all your support. It'll never happen again. --Mbo |

Subject: RE: BS: The End--AGAIN! From: Rick Fielding Date: 23 Feb 00 - 06:53 PM Mbo, Get a grip! Don't take things so seriously (especially around here). Post anything you want. I suspect that somewhat depressing rockband lyrics aren't going to get you the kudos that Peter gets for his (sometimes) grandiose visions. But he gets tweaked as well...from the more courageous. As you well know, the ubiquitous katlaughing has gotten everthing from Newage Godess status (from those looking for a newage Godess) to totally nasty (and anonymous) dumpings...and she's still here pumpin' out positive postings. I got shat on from a great hight just last night in a thread that 99 out of a 100 mudcatters would never even open. It's NOT the end of the world! Lighten up, don't worry, and start a "Sex Pistols" thought of the day if you want. T'is supposed to be fun here. Since I got in quickly, there'll probably be a dozen postings to make ya feel better anyway. Cheers. Rick |

Subject: RE: BS: The End--AGAIN! From: Troll Date: 23 Feb 00 - 09:56 PM Meebo. If Garg didn't like it, that should mean that it was a great idea which should be continued.GG is a sort of negative barometer. troll |

Subject: RE: BS: The End--AGAIN! From: Rick Fielding Date: 24 Feb 00 - 12:30 AM Now hold on folks...it's the millenium. Maybe this is Gurgoyle's way of saying he LOVES it. Keep smilin' Rick |

Subject: RE: BS: The End--AGAIN! From: GUEST,DougR Date: 24 Feb 00 - 12:43 AM Hey Gargoyle, you got any strong feelings about it? MBO, Rick's right. Don't break your pick on the little ones, wait for the big ones. Post what you want when you want. DougR |

Subject: RE: BS: The End--AGAIN! From: M. Ted (inactive) Date: 24 Feb 00 - 10:47 PM Rick, I was curious when you mentioned getting shat upon in a discussion thread, but not the thread--I thought, well, just do a search on his name, and you'll find the posts he made, and you'll be there, no sweat--only I should have thought before I punched the search button--because the seach locked up my computer--Why was that? Because the results showed that you have made 2644 posts to Mudcat, and all that since January 5, 1999--Get a life!!-BG-

Subject: RE: BS: The End--AGAIN! From: Lonesome EJ Date: 24 Feb 00 - 10:55 PM Yeah, Rick, now we're all curious to view the site of your be-shatting. It's the same urge that's shared by hockey fans and Figure-8 Racing afficionados. Let's see... a thread that 99 out of 100 mudcatters wouldn't even open...hmmm |

Subject: RE: BS: The End--AGAIN! From: M. Ted (inactive) Date: 25 Feb 00 - 01:03 PM Sorry, I after that build up, I should have mentioned it-- Anyway, contrary to Rick's appraisal, a lot of the Mudcat gang is there, and they are all up to their old tricks!! You'll get 49 posts from some of your old favorites--Of course, Ranger Rick Fielding is there, and his sidekick, Michael K, KatLaughing drops in for a chat, and so does everyone's favorite, lovable old Sandy Paton--The discussion jumps up a notch when a member, Davecoje ambushes Rick with a surprise flame, and keeps coming back, until the whole gang jumps in--It's a wagonload of fun and entertainment for the whole family!! |

Subject: RE: BS: The End--AGAIN! From: wysiwyg Date: 25 Feb 00 - 01:18 PM The "flamer" didn't leave because he got jumped, he went to e-mail with me where we are having a memorable and extremely colorful mutual sh*t flinging extravaganza too hot for the thread!!!! All in good fun! He's great!!! I'm keeping him! He brings out my inner Chicagoan!! His night messages are a drunken brawl, and in the morning he sets the stools back on their legs!! I recommend him! No need for the Scream room!!! |

Subject: RE: BS: The End--AGAIN! From: wysiwyg Date: 25 Feb 00 - 01:26 PM No, but it has enlivened me somewhat, although I tended to be inappropriate already. I work hard to be a good girl, but every once in awhile a string pops! |
|
Subject: RE: BS: The End--AGAIN! From: M. Ted (inactive) Date: 25 Feb 00 - 01:34 PM If you press on the string just above the nut while you are tightening the string, the tension doesn't build up so much, and your strings won't pop-- |
|
Subject: RE: BS: The End--AGAIN! From: wysiwyg Date: 25 Feb 00 - 01:38 PM 1. Where would a girl press? 2. Where would I press on the autoharp?

Subject: RE: BS: The End--AGAIN! From: Troll Date: 25 Feb 00 - 01:40 PM Put a little graphite in the string slots in the nut.A #2 pencil works well. This lubricates the slots so the strings slide freely. Do the same with the bridge saddle. troll |

Subject: RE: BS: The End--AGAIN! From: TerriM Date: 26 Feb 00 - 12:20 PM Troll, are you sure that's acceptable advice to be giving to a girl, in public, so to speak? |

Subject: RE: BS: The End--AGAIN! From: Amos Date: 26 Feb 00 - 05:25 PM Wal, 's been my experience that some take advice better than others -- some add a pinch of salt, some a little honey, and still others a teaspoonful of alum mixed with cayenne. |
