Its called "I cant help but wonder where I'm bound. Tom Paxron. Should be in the dt. If not, I can give you the words and chords. It's one of my current favorites.

Don, should the Am in the last line of the chorus be an F?

Actually John,

I believe its a D minor which is how I learned it, but an F would probably work just fine. I'm sitting here in my office figuring this out on my office autoharp and I just had a a brief mental lapse as I was playing.

Thanks for all the answers - did't know that song by Paxton - but the one I meant is not that one. It has to do with dying and getting ready for that last journey. It sounds rather like a (kind of) gospel song (my version was song by a woman). Is that information of any help?

Paxton's song is on the DT. There's a gospel song, COME AND GO WITH ME, which could possibly be what you're looking for?

No, it's not that one either, sorry. I remember one or two lines which go something like this
...when I get to where I'm going, I hold my head up high...

I've just been told by a friend that the song is also performed by a singer called P. Loveless. Is that information of any help to find the lyrics I'm looking for?

Apparently Patty Loveless (one of the few country singers of today that I would go see) did a song called Where I'm Bound by Britt & Burgess on her Long Stretch of Lonesome album from 1997. I have not heard it, and I didn't find a sound clip, but it sounds like this might be what you are looking for.
