Dick and I are going to the Champlain Valley Folk Festival, Burlington Vermont August 1. Is anyone else going? It has an excellent lineup (i.e. traditional0. We are thinking of getting some digitrad tee shirts to be more noticable. There were other mudcaters at Mystic whom we never found.

No takers for Champlain? Let me tell you what you will miss if you do not go. Partial list of performers; Dick Gaughan, Mike seeger, Garnet Rogers, Dervish (Irish), lonesome River Band (bluegrass), Finest Kind (Robb etc), Jerry Holland (fiddler), Lui Collins, Celtic Mettle, Waterson/Carthy, Benoit Bourque, Gillette & Mangson, Big Boy Henry (blues), Jeff Davis, John Cohen, Margaret MacArthur, Tom Paley, OFNI (Normandy), Brian Peters, Lightnin' Wells, Yankee Chank (Cajun), Peggy Eyres (Adirondack), Pete & Karen Southerland, Eamon Flynn, Red Wing Pupets, Newark VT Balkin Chorus, Wolfsong (stories), Highland Weavers, Brass & Waterson (Balkan), Sacred Harp, Stan Ransom, MacKenzie & Buckley (pipers).

Anyone in New England or Ontario should consider this.

Let us know if anyone is going so we can arrange to meet. The t shirts probably won't be ready on time.

Still hoping, I'll know last minute, hope to see you. This would be my & my family's 1st time there. Is there much side line singing & music sessions there. I'm used to festivals where there is on site camping & we enjoy the music that happens off stage as much as on, does that happen there? Barry

There is no on-site camping - some in area, some dorm rooms (probably sold out by gate time and not cheap. also motels

My wife & I are taking the kids (8 & 10) to Champlain and are looking to find out if any of the campgrounds usually have ongoing, allnight music sessions. Would love to meet any of you that are going there. If t-shirts are out there I'll be looking for some. Thanks Barry

The T shirts are not yet ready. Dick said something about printing up stick on labels to stick to our shirts for recognition. We are both short, heavy, middle-aged, wear glasses. He has a beard and is greyer than I am. He often wears shorts, I don't. I am likely to wear t shirts with either celtic knotwork or dragons. I don't think a lot of people camp out. If you listen around the performers, you may hear if there is a sing in one of the dorm lounges.

Hope to see you!

Susan, I'll be watching for you & Dick. Most likly I'll be draged around by an 8 & 10 yr old boy & girl with both feet limping & carrying a very large bodhran, I'll also be wearing shorts with white socks & no leg muscles & fairly well perserved for late 40's. See you there & Thanks for the responses. Barry

Hope to see you Barry. I guess everyone else will miss out on a great festival. Dick is sometimes seen carrying/playing a banjo. I will proabably have a gray backpack with a celtic design on it.
