Subject: Upsala music From: Kristi H Date: 09 Jul 00 - 12:15 AM I just listened to our CD for the first time in months. We have been the typical band and broke up shortly after our first project. We have had interesting things happen since the CD was released. Our banjo player was diagnosed with a terminal illness: our mandolin lost his father and grandfather and doesn't know where they will live in the next year, oh and he discovered a daughter. We just stayed home and have seen life flow by and supported our friends. Please listen to our music and let us know if you think we should continue to play together. This is not an advertisement, but a true request to see objective opinions about our music. Go to: www.mp3.com/upsala, http://iuma.upsala.com or www.geocities.com/upsala1 to hear our style of Old Time Folk Music. Email me back privately to let me know what you think at Upsala1@aol.com. thanks, K |

Subject: RE: Upsala music From: katlaughing Date: 09 Jul 00 - 12:21 AM Kristi, it is good to hear from you, again. Max has played several cuts from your CD on Mudcat Radio and everyone really enjoyed it. I think you guys sounds great! I am so sorry to hear there have been more life changes for various members. I think most everyone always hopes the music will help us get through such things, but I guess sometimes the effort and concentration needed to practise, perform, and produce materials can be too much. Please know you have my thoughts and prayers and best wishes for all members and the directions you travel. luvyakat |

Subject: RE: Upsala music From: Kristi H Date: 09 Jul 00 - 12:39 AM for those that have heard from me before, JU is doing great, he has been home and working furiously for the past two or more months. He is a construction contractor and is working on his biggest contract ever with the Florida Agriculture Museum. He is working like a fiend to get it done under budget. Andy and i are going to work a few days on it to give cheap labor and a part of this project during our vacation. The next project is to put some trackson a recording he made right before he went to Chicagofor chemo and radiation. JU is a wonderful songwriter. His songs focus on a day in the life... We are the lives we lead. Shouldn't music be a part of it? Of course, there's no question of that, but what is the quality of a life we chose to lead? k |

Subject: RE: Upsala music From: GUEST,Pete Peterson at work Date: 10 Jul 00 - 09:44 AM Kristi, I LOVE my copy of Upsala and think there is some very wonderful stuff on it! i think JU is a great songwriter for many reasons chief among them is that he writes about things he knows about and cares about. I think the five of you sound wonderful together and would find it very hard to pick a favorite cut. I hope you guys stay together! I also think we are all terminally ill, just that the time scale differs. |
