God I love this song! It's "Till I Found You" by Marty Stuart, off his 1991 album Tempted. Ahh, for me this album defined being 13! I've tried searching for the lyrics online mant times before, but to no avail. I have the album, if I can find it, I'll post the lyrics.

TILL I FOUND YOU
Written by Paul Kennerley & Hank DeVito
Performed by Marty Stuart on the album Tempted.

When I was a young man
I thought I knew everything
But I didn't know nothing
Till I found you

I used to get around some
I thought I'd seen everything
But I hadn't seen nothing
Till I found you

Till I found you, there was no light
Nothing ever worked out right
Baby it's true, till I found you

Everybody's searching
They're trying to find something
But I don't need nothing
Now I found you

Cause you're the only one, love
The only one I'm sure of
All I want is your love
Now that I found you

Till I found you, there was no light
Nothing ever worked out right
Baby it's true, till I found you
Baby it's true, till I found you

There's also a song, called "If I Didn't Have You", that Robin and Linda Williams recorded on their Turn Toward Tomorrow CD. Liner notes say it's written by R. Smith and T. Seals- I'm not sure who T. Seals is. Turn Toward Tomorrow is the "countriest" of Robin and Linda's albums, and I'd agree Robin has a great voice.

Unfortunately, the lyrics aren't in the liner - I know there's a line in it though, "I wouldn't Have Nothing if I didn't Have You". I'll transcribe it ASAP.

T.Seals may be Troy Seals, a popular Nashville songwriter, and cousins to singer Dan Seals and Brady Seals (formerly of Little Texas.) GUEST said it was a guy singing...is Robin a bloke?

Ah, I might be wrong, too. The actual lyric in this is:

"I don't know What I'd Do if I didn't have you",

so this might not be the right one either. But it's a nice song, so I'll post the lyrics anyway.

IF I DIDN'T HAVE YOU
R. Williams and T. Seals
performed by Robin and Linda Williams

Looks like life gets harder all the time
Takes more trying just to make it
Every time I get my hands on a dime
Somebody's waiting there to take it
So every time I start to feel a little down
Every time I get a little blue
I start thinking about the love that I found
And the lonliness I'd be going through
If I didn't have you

But I do have you, so let the chips fall where they may
They won't fall on us on this blanket where we lay
Love will shelter us until the morning sun comes shining through
Oh, I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have you

Some people think you can but happiness
By takin' a little money to the store
But I wouldn't give a million for your sweet kiss
And that old dog laying by the door
So every time I start to feel a liitle down
Every time I get a little blue
I start thinking about the love that I found
And the lonliness I'd be going through
If I didn't have you

But I do have you to share my life and wear my ring
And as long as I do I won't worry about a thing
Love will shelter us til the morning sun comes shining through
Oh I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have you

Yes I do have you, so let the chips fall where they may
They won't fall on us on this blanket where we lay
Love will shelter us til the morning sun comes shining through
Oh I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have you

I hope I got all of that right - and I'm not sure it's the song GUEST is looking for.
