Hi Guy. Won't get a chance to see your pots, but I've been playin' your stuff on the radio show. Still love it.

Unfortunately the main perfomance venue in Charlottesville, The Prisim has not yet cranked up its fall schedule. But there is at least one open mike spot. Check out the Baja Bean which is located at "the corner" - a designation for an area near where a train trestle crosses Main Street across from the Universtity of Virginia campus.

Unfortunately I won't be in C'ville Saturday to show you the sights. Maybe Mrrzy or BeauDangles will get in touch with you though.

I will be at my Charlottesville home on Sunday and Monday for a visit and would like to hook up with you. Look for a Personal Message in which I will give you my C'ville phone number.

Oh, once you get to the area, pick up a (free) copy of a newsprint publication called "C'ville". That will give you a good idea of what is going on in town.

Guy, there are two or three stores worth a look. One is Snookie's Pawn Shop which is located on the downtown "walking mall". This is where Bill Sables has found a couple of great bargains. I'd have to lead you to the other ones because they are a bit more difficult to get to.

I am afraid I will miss meeting you Guy. The company I work for is butting up against a major deadline, and we are in a massive overtime push. So I will be offering up my Saturday on the altar of corporate America before heading out of town to visit my mother. I hope you enjoy your stay in our humble little 'ville. Maybe I can catch you next time around.

BeauDangles

Didn't even see this thread, sorry, till AllanC PM'd me about it! Sorry I missed it, I was up in Philly at my twin niblings' b'nai mitzvah - felt all anthropological, observing the rites of a tribe not my own, kinda like whenever I go to Monticello...

So, how was it?

And thanks, Allan!

Monicello sells seeds from descendant plants of the originals planted by Jefferson. I read an article about it once which was really interesting. It would have been wonderful to see you making pots in such a beautiful setting, Guy. Congratulations. Did you find any instruments of note?

Hello all ,there were so many great people at Monticello and they dined me very well.. (I loved the sweet potato fries at the southern resteraunt near the rail-road tracks.Dear Allen C sorry I missed you. I could'nt open my personal page the morning of my flight.. I met a great woman who works at the Tandum school(learning mandolin) who told me there were tons of get-togthers around Charlottesvile but that something was going on that weekend near by so everyone was out of time. For thoughs from Ct one of the coolest things was on the trip home I sat across from Faith Middleton of NPR fame.. She was as nice as she seems on her show.. My thanks again to everyone who tried to help me and show interest in this trip..
