Kornog Concert

I saw the great Breton band Kornog perform on Wednesday night here in Seattle. I was completely astonished. This is an extremely hot band. They did complex arrangements of very difficult material and played it all flawlessly, with lots of fun and humor thrown in.

Go see them if you possibly can.

Hey John, I just saw them here in Minneapolis on Sunday. I had the same reaction--just blown away by their musicianship. That new guitarist they've got is really hot, huh? And I've always liked Christian LeMaitre's silky-smooth fiddling. I was especially impressed by how tight they were as a group.

My only complaint was the songs--I wish they'd add some Breton material to their vocal stuff. And I wish Jamie McMenemy was a stronger singer, or that they'd get some vocal harmonies going. But instrumentally, they just can't be beat.

I'm with John, see them if you can. Great combination of Breton (and other) tunes and Scottish ballads.
