Have any of you noticed that lately all the Pete Seger CDs seem to have sort of vanished away into thin air. I'm one of the very few thirteen year old fok enthusiasts around but frankly I think rock just sucks and now Pete Seger, The Weavers, even Joan Baez Albums are numbered few so if any of you discover any good folk music stores inform me. P.S. How the heck do you play C minor on a guitar?

The C minor chord is usually played with a barre on the (I believe) third fret. Requires a little finger gymastics if you're not used to it. I can't give you any more details without having a guitar in front of me, but any good chord chart should help. 'Catters, is there such a chart on-line?

Here's one on-line chord chart I found: click here Hope it works.

Guest, Jonathan D.- I congratulate you on your musical tastes. It's people like you who keep the traditional music scene afloat from generation to generation.

Welcome to the reality of folk music in a greedy world, however. The CD's you mention can be found, often at CD Now or Amazon.com. The supply varies, shrinks and often vanishes, so it pays to act fast if you find one you really want.

Check out the chord finder- I think you may find it useful. Good luck, pick on, and check back in at the Mudcat anytime! Thanks, BlueJay

Try Elderly Instruments, located in Lansing, Michigan. the URL for their website is as follows:

http://www.elderly.com

They have a very good representation of folk-type music CDs, including a number of Pete's.

Bar the entire third fret. With the remaining fingers, formulate the A minor position.(Middle finger = 4th fret, 2nd string; ring finger = 5th fret, 4th string; baby finger = 5th fret, 3rd string.)

Sorry, the above was in reference to the C minor position (in standard guitar tuning - E, A, D, G, B, E)

CAMSCO Music has a bunch od Seeger CDs, ranging from Darling Cory thru the Weavers up to some later stuff. If you buy from Camsco (at competitive prices to places like CDNow), Mudcat gets a cut.

You can call me at 800/548-FOLK or E-Mail me at dick@camsco.com for info on specific recordings.

To answer the original question see Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. Any cassette (and CD by default of ommision) left in a car long enough will turn into Queens Greatest Hits.

Nice pun in the thread title BTW - good to see a youngster with as daft a sense of humour as me! makes me feel young again.

Cheers
