Subject: RE: Lyrics: An Nighean Dubh From: James Hunter Date: 09 Dec 96 - 11:54 AM The version I'm thinking of was done by Alan Stivell, but I've heard it done by a female vocalist, too (how's that for specific?!!) With my highly dodgy linguistic skills, I've transcribed the first few lines, which sound (to me) something like this: Yanin su kalishan yintu Yu wail yase vaten Yanin su kalishan yintu Yanin su kalishan grueg enino bigel suena hapek Anyway, if this sounds even remotely like anything you've ever heard, please let me know!! James |

Subject: RE: Lyrics: An Nighean Dubh From: Bill Date: 30 Dec 96 - 01:26 AM Ali, Did you do some time travelling while your PC was gone? I figure you must have to know what's going to be released in 1998. I certainly would never put it down to a typo. Allinkausay, Bill |

Subject: RE: Lyrics: An Nighean Dubh From: Brían Date: 18 Sep 01 - 07:43 PM Thanks, George. Susan says her version is derived from both the Clannad and Alan Stivell versions. It's on her CD Lowlands(GLCD1205).I don't see any verses that arn't on the Clannad version. Brían |
