Mary:  There are any number of songs relating to Kerry, of course; at the moment you can't get to the "Digitrad and Forum Search" through the box on the main Forum page, but there is another way:  Search Engine Back Door.  Just type in kerry, or tralee, for example, and you'll have plenty of reading!

Forty Shades of Green is not specifically Kerry oriented. It mentions (if memory is correct) "the boats at Skibereen" and Skibereen is in County Cork. Of course it could have been included to rhyme with Green.

Wow! Thanks everybody for all your suggestions on Kerry related songs. It will keep me busy searching out the lyrics for all.... am trying to gather as many as I can to post for Kerry researchers on my Kerry genealogy site.

Seems as though there are a few West Kerry musicians here or at least those who have played there...would anyone know of or played at a pub in Ballydavid/Baile na nGal on Smerwick harbor called Tigh TP?

I've recently traced my famine era emigrant ancestors back to that area and found I am related to TP.

On Sliabh Notes 2nd album "Gleanntán", Tommy O'Sullivan sings a lovely song called "The People of West Cork and Kerry" My copy of the CD is at work right now, but I'll bring it home tomorrow and post the lyrics.
By the way, Sliabh Notes is an excellent trio. Make a point of seeing them and/or getting their recordings.
