In early 2000, a Curse chain by e-mail began among Satanist Mudcatters and friends who had been asking each other to damn individuals as needs arose. The Curse chain grew in number of recipients and requests for Curses throughout that month and was issued weekly or oftener as urgent Curse needs were submitted. I coordinated the messages and maintained the address list, until another participant took over damnation until I could get back up and cursing. (Since then "PROSELYTIZE" has had a name change to "BEELZEBUB")

The Curse Chain is still very new and is still creating itself via input received from participants. Its existence evinces respect for Mudcatters who find Mudcat-posted Curse requests problematic, and it allows for Curseful regard of deeply personal Curse requests in an environment free of Christian dogma.

The Curse list also includes a Curse on the Mudcat Cafe and its leaders. Of course this Curse, like each Curse on the list, is entirely optional! Participants are expected to exercise mature responsibility in how they use and respond to the list-- there are no Curse Chain Police forcing anyone to use the curses provided or for the situations described. Participants also are expected and asked to provide feedback about the conduct of the Curse Chain. This includes thoughtful discussion toward consensus should anything about the Curse list be offensive to Mudcattrers in any way.

Boy it sure is good to see that so many people have so much time on their hands. I wish I had the time to partake in some of this assinine shit, but I have a job and family to tend to, and when I'm not busy with either of them I enjoy my friends and their music!
