Okay, there's an agenda here, too. I've looked through the DigiTrad and did a Forum search, as best I know how, and didn't find this tune, one of my favorites done by the Pozo-Seco Singers. But I don't know who wrote it. Anyone?

It's on the "I Can Make It with You" album. The notes with the CD give no songwriter information.

Allmusic.com attributes JOHNNY to "Merchant". That would be Michael D. Merchant; BMI.com confirms that he wrote the following songs that The Pozo-Seco Singers recorded:

These can all be found on "Time for the Pozo-Seco Singers: The Complete 1966 Recordings," Rev-Ola CD 272, 2009; and on "Time/I Can Make It with You" (two original LPs reissued as one CD: Collectors' Choice Music 6980, 1997.

thanks a million for this lyrics.
I have looked in many web sites for it without getting results.
I did purchase the LP at the PX back then an this song touched my heart. My hearing is not to clear on the words as I tried to write them down. Now thanks to you I can follow the entire song.

I became good friends with Lofton, Donnie and Susan when I worked at KRYS in Corpus Christi in the mid 60's. We would rig mics and they'd sing in the studio and, once in a while, on the front lawn of the station on Staples Street live!

Those were great days, and I remember playing "Time" on the air for the first "time" anywhere...a tip of the hat I've never forgotten. The folks at Columbia were great in getting me that copy.

Since those days I've seen Lofton and Donnie..but never Susan. If they recall a young DJ with limp from wearing a brace..that was me.

In case anyone wanted to know, Susan Taylor now goes by Taylor Pie.
As of this writing, she will be going to her 45 High School reunion
on Oct 9th in Corpus Christi Tex for W B Ray High School Reunion.
While I will not be there for all the fun and festivities, I know that all will have a wonderful time. She many even honor everyone with a performance. How sweet is that. My understanding is that she has enjoyed a wonderful music career. Wish I could be there to see her.

I have been trying to find these lyrics for years--THANKS!!! The only time I heard it was at a folk singing that my church had back in the '60s, and I could only remember snatches of the song

My mom sang this song to my father as he laid dying with my daughter in his arms as he stroked her hair.
Thanks for helping me find the song. I use spotify and it pulld up 2 albums for "Pozo-Seco Singers" the 1966 recomendation lead me right to it.
Some things like this just cant be put in words. So thanks

Anyone know why this song is blocked in Canada. I would like to buy it but can't seem to find it. I have also been searching for years as did not know who sang it & my Uncle use to sing it to his kids but couldn't remember it.

An amazing singer/dulcimer player named Sarah Morgan has recorded this song on her CD titled, "Run to the Window." Her voice and rendition of the song are STELLAR.

I, personally, contacted Michael Merchant and got the same information that Mr. Dixon above. Johnny is far-and-away one of my favs by the Pozo Seco Singers. Great song, great group and great songwriter!!
