Subject: RE: BS: The Rabbi Akiba... From: The Crazy Bird Date: 15 Mar 01 - 05:31 AM This story has been attributed to a number of people -- I've often seen it touted as a Sufi story. Here's one about R. Akiba: Moses was taken forward in time (don't ask me how, angelic license, I guess)to a classroom where Akiba was teaching. Moses, sitting in the back was amazed at the teaching of Akiba... One of the students asks: How do you know all this? Akiba replies: we have it from Moses, who recieved it on Sinai! Moses was again amazed, because he never had realized all the things that were in the Torah. So, he asks: What will be this man's reward? And Moses is shown how the roman soldiers killed Akiba, how the flesh was raked from his face with a red-hot iron comb... How can this be? cries Moses. It will be as I have said, answers the Voice rgrds CrzyBrd
