Where did you hear it, who played it and so on? It doesn't mean anything to me at the moment, but it might 'ring bells' if you tell us a bit more. Noreen |

Subject: RE: Any info on the song Taralyr? From: ARB Date: 16 Mar 01 - 08:25 AM I heard Taralyr on a disc called "Celtic Christmas" I'm not sure if I spelled it right. I can't find my disc. This song is what got me interested in the theme I chose for D.I. We could'mnt use it because We could'nt find information on it. I was messing around on the piano this morning and remembered the tune. I have to go to school now so I'll check back after school. |

Subject: RE: Any info on the song Taralyr? From: ARB Date: 16 Mar 01 - 08:31 AM I remember something else. This song had a violinist named Scarlett Rivera. I'm sure on the first name but not sure on her last name. This version also had bagpipes. |

Subject: RE: Any info on the song Taralyr? From: Noreen Date: 16 Mar 01 - 08:59 AM Thanks, Adam, would it be TOO-A-LOO-RA-LOO-RAL (That's An Irish Lullaby) (which isn't Irish, but American). (Click on the blue link). Unfortunately there's no tune with these words in the DT database. |

Subject: RE: Any info on the song Taralyr? From: Malcolm Douglas Date: 16 Mar 01 - 09:53 AM It's actually given as Tarallyr, and it seems to appear on several records featuring Scarlet Rivera and Eric Rigler: "Celtic Carols", "Celtic Spirit" "Echoes of the Celts" and "Celtic Aire Christmas". The term "Celtic" is used rather loosely, of course, as is so often the case with such things. I'm thinking just now that it's unlikely to be that "Irish Lullaby", but the only references I've found to it so far have been to the Rivera recordings... Malcolm |
