Subject: RE: Lyr Req: The Sermon From: Joe Offer Date: 17 Mar 01 - 09:05 PM Hi, Fawlaks - A little more information would help, but I did a Google Search (click) for sermon "can of sardines", and came up with a short list. Let us know if the list has what you're looking for. If you think it's worth posting here, please do. -Joe Offer- |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: The Sermon From: crystaldragon Date: 19 Mar 01 - 12:49 AM Is this the one from Beyond the Fringe? I think Alan Bennett wrote it. I think it starts "My brother was a hairy man but I am a smooth man" that`s about all I can remember. Hope that helps. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: The Sermon From: Arkie Date: 19 Mar 01 - 01:38 AM This all brings to mind the monologue by a comedian, Jay Steinberg, I think was the name, presented on the old Smothers Brothers television show, including the lines "Jacob was a smooth man and Esau was a hairy man". I once had a copy which has been lost now many a year. I remember thinking at the time it was quite funny, but it did cause a bit of controversy. |
