Well, this should be fun. Call in and play your versions of Stagger Lee, Frankie and Albert/Johnny, Delia, Freight Train and Stewball. Listen to more versions than you ever cared to.

Play the Lester Flatt clip I e-mailed you this afternoon, Max. Good comic relief.

(short MP3 of Lester Flatt really chewing out a radio DJ during an interview.)

No, I meant for your dancing to the PG&E cut. You need Bert and MaryMac as a doowop chorus!

I agree Max, that's a good one. I also liked Longhair's. Who did the Top 40 version back in the mid-60s? Was that Wilson Pickett? Joe Cocker had a pretty rocking version too.

Mine? Still in the studio...

I think...

23. MaryMac

24. Bert

25. Max (Mandolin)

26. Guy Wolff

27. The Staggers (punk)

28. Max (Lap Steel)

29. Pacific Gas and Electric

30. Taj Mahal - In Progress & In Motion 1965

31. Taj Mahal - An Evening of Acoustic Music

OK, well we just got to stagger Lee tonight, and fell 15 versions short of what I have in my collection, but even I couldn't take no more. We'll do this again with other songs sometime. We may have just set a world record.

Get onto the Guiness Book of Records! Then it might have all been worthwhile... *grin*
