hello friends,

fun news . . . Rebecca Hall (and her band) and I will be in London May 29-June 5, playing gigs and puttering around.

Any London 'Catters out there? We'd love to meet you.

So far we're playing at "Come Down and Meet the Folks" June 3, and are trying to set something up at 12-Bar and a few other places. We'd welcome suggestions of friendly clubs to investigate; or would anyone be interested in a house concert?

Rebecca and I both fall in to the beguiling category of Alt Country, both songwriters with a heavy dollop of trad.

Wow, see Rebecca: Click here

Ooh aah, Erica: Click here

Anywho, just wanted to give ya a heads-up . . . . :)

Erica

Yep!! You London 'catters really MUST hear these two young 'uns (well, younger, anyway)

I was at their concert in NYC -- a great night along with two other great women singers, Ellen Weiss and Alison Kelley. What a night!!

Rebecca & Erica take note: Marilyn and I had a great time at Sharps Folk Club. It's in the lower level of Cecil Sharp House, right near Regents Park. Check it out. And say "Howdy!" from a couple of Yanks who were there in the summer of '99.

Oh yes, upon our return to New York, Alison already knew of our visit, including the titles of the three songs I sang. One of them was "In the Pines," a song I never had the nerve to do in her presence. Is there nothing that escapes the worldwide network of folkies?

Yes, do come to Sharp's - it's every Tuesday, starting at 8pm. Nearest tube is Camden Town - PM me and I can send directions.

We can't wait to hit Sharp's! Tuesdays . . . great. Funny how the ocean blows gossip over so quickly . . . maybe I'll sneak an Ida Red song and see if I get in trouble upon my return. See you there, Gervase! Directons would be most helpful if you have a free moment, thankee -- Erica ericamackenziesmith@yahoo.com
