Help: SM48 Quality???

Found a good sale on sm48 mics $40.00USD. I wish to use it for my guitar, bones and some vocals. I was going to get an sm58. What is the quality difference between the two? Do you all think I should save my pennies for the SM58??

The 58 is well woth the extra. Better quality and more resistant to damage (ie more useful when you have to beat the audience into submission).
