Help: Acoustic Bass to Electrify

I have recently bought a second hand Eko acoustic bass. There is no model number that I can see but it is a "fretless" type although the frets are marked on for helping the novice like me! My question is has anyone any experience of putting a mic or pickup in one of these? Any help and guidance appreciated.
