Subject: When the heart is full, ya gotta say tks From: katlaughing Date: 20 Jun 01 - 12:24 AM Dear Mudcatters, I have been struggling for many months with spillover depression from my SO and other family members and, even some of my own for that matter. Anyway, through it all, there has been Mudcat and my very dear friends. You have uplifted me, listened to me, chided me, and been there when I needed you. Today, with all the love and care you've shown for Spaw and his family, I am struck anew with the awe I feel when contemplating this thing we call Mudcat. For the first time in months, I was moved to try to write something to express how I feel and to say thanks. It's a small thing and I think I've written better poems, but it comes from the heart and I'd like to share it. Please feel free to add your own. You all deserve the very best and thanks for being who you are!
A Poem for Mudcat
No bricks, nor mortar in its building;
Built on the wings of tradition's old songs
Born of ideas, sharing sounds of our hearts,
A new world, a community of folk luvyakat

Subject: RE: When the heart is full, ya gotta say tks From: Amos Date: 20 Jun 01 - 12:42 AM Awww, kat lady, you have the goilden touch indeed. Nicely put. I find it useful to remember that all the terrible artifacts of depression, no matter how persuasive -- the deadly seriousness, the bottomless indifference and hope-not, and the apparent eternities of nothing-of-interest -- all these are conditions, not of Thee but of It. No matter how convincing they are, the Thou can be found behind and completely differentiated from all these complexities and labyrinthine barriers to being. Remembering that really helps me kick the grim eollercoaster and decline invitations to participate in that of others. Just a widdle thought to share. I love your poem@!@ A |

Subject: RE: When the heart is full, ya gotta say tks From: gnu Date: 20 Jun 01 - 03:42 PM I don't know how many this makes today, but, thanks again. I just got back from a local cemetary where I was figuring out the drill for tomorrow's service for an aunt. After the figuring, I visited a number of graves of my passed loved ones and said a prayer of thanks at each. Your poem has made my day brighter. Thanks. |
