Subject: Whiskey Deaf and Whiskey Blind From: Jeep man Date: 22 Jun 01 - 11:40 PM Norman Blake does this song and if you havn't heard it, you should. He does a great job, but I don't rightly understand what the term Whiskey Deaf and Whiskey Blind mean. (Deaf and blind to anything except whiskey)? Your comments are most welcome. Jeep |

Subject: RE: Whiskey Deaf and Whiskey Blind From: Murray MacLeod Date: 23 Jun 01 - 11:37 PM The fourth verse of the song goes

Subject: RE: Whiskey Deaf and Whiskey Blind From: Jim the Bart Date: 23 Jun 01 - 11:43 PM I would think it applies more metaphorically. I see it as the stage of alcoholism where you can't see that you have a problem and won't listen when someone tries to tell you. |

Subject: RE: Whiskey Deaf and Whiskey Blind From: GUEST,Hanrod Date: 09 Aug 09 - 09:18 PM Great song, and it means what it says. No need for any quasi-positive interpretations or sociological criticism; it is about life, which leaves us deaf and blind, with or without whiskey. |
