Hi Cas, I'm near Cromer. The Norwich Folk club meets on Friday nights in the Branford arms. I don't think it would be child friendly but the people are freindly - it probably would be worth a visit and maybe help you finding what else is going on.

I can't help with Bluegrass or country (not things I go looking for) but I'll PM you later with more details on the things I go to in Norfolk.

Jon

So there's a folk club on Friday nights is there..... that may make a difference to how often we visit!!

Liz - The Branford is an excellent club. Makes visits to nearby Mother in Laws almost worthwhile. See you and Jon there on my next as yet unplanned visit. Cheers John

You will have to let me know if you want to meet me at the Branford Arms as I rarely get there. Absoulutely nothing wrong with the club - it is an excellent club but a) I am a bit far away and b) I rely on my mother (who genuinely loves the music) for transport.

What tends to happen is we try to have a once a week trip to Norwich for music and opt for the Irish instrumental session on a Tuesday night as it happens to be both our favourites - certainly suits me better being far more of a tune mentality than a song mentality (nothing wrong with songs, I hasten to add).

Can always fit the odd extra one in though...

Jon

I have an old copy of a magazine called 'Mardles' which deals with Suffolk and surrounding counties, including Norfolk. This was dated 1996, so the info might be out of date, but the editor at the time was Michael Blanford, tel 01473 717680.
