Subject: Tales of the Riverbank From: GUEST,Adrienne Date: 02 Oct 01 - 07:56 AM Years ago, on Captain Kangaroo, there was a recurring segment called "Tales of the Riverbank" that filmed the adventures of a real hamster and mouse, etc. This segment had a theme song, played by a single acoustic guitar, that was simply beautiful. No words. I don't know the title of the piece, and I have searched CD Now and CD World hunting for a song called "Tales of the Riverbank", but that must not be it. Can anyone please tell me the title of that song? |

Subject: RE: Tales of the Riverbank From: Rana@work Date: 02 Oct 01 - 05:03 PM Hammy the hamster, Rodney the rat, can't remember the guinea pigs name. Questions's been answered but in my searches I found this: _________________________ TALES OF THE RIVERBANK Canada / Dave Ellison-Ray Billings / 52x30m-e / 1960-64 Writers/Producers/Directors: Dave Ellison, Paul Sutherland Comedy series. Stories of Hammy Hamster and his riverbank chums. The shows used footage of real animals filmed doing humanised things (such as driving a car etc). ________________________ So it seems to have been Canadian - does this mean that the Beeb did a Johnny Morris voice overdub (a bit like the for the Magic Roundabout) "Time for Bed" said Zebedee
