Subject: Hear These Jugband & Novelty Songs! From: wysiwyg Date: 12 Feb 02 - 05:03 PM Willa found this site and mentioned it in another thread and it got nearly ignored! I know you skifflers won't want to miss it! I just had a blast playing novelties-- you can check-box to make yourself a playlist, hit PLAY, and Real Player runs you your own little radio show. It's called THE BEAT. Here's what they say about themselves: Music is the magic mirror that reflects every era. The tears, triumphs, and hopes of each generation are expressed in the music they listened to. Our goal is to bring their history alive - through music. There are also some great old-timey/bluegrass gems hiding in the Country section. They take requests, too. You just gotta go LOOK! AND they will hang up music clips that fit their mix: To Our Talented Listeners-- We're offering a showcase for your talent. If you'd like to be heard on this site, contact us. The song(s) must be reminiscent of the 30s and 40s, and should be in one of the following formats: .ra, .wav, .mp3, or .mid. Go Catters! ~Susan |

Subject: RE: Hear These Jugband & Novelty Songs! From: wysiwyg Date: 12 Feb 02 - 06:09 PM If I had a nose full of nickels! It isn't ALL old, but the neither are we. *G* Hardi said he'd heard "Johnny Fedora and Alice Blue Bonnet" as a kid but always thought it was Alice Bubonic. Parodies of novelties? Johnny Choleric? ~S~ |

Subject: RE: Hear These Jugband & Novelty Songs! From: reggie miles Date: 12 Feb 02 - 06:11 PM Interesting site but like others who have had with the operation of their player I have both IE and Real Player so the downloaded selections I made did not play correctly. I saw the fixes that they described and will try to correct my software's apparent lack. I'd like to check out some of the novelties they have to offer. Thanks for the notice. |
