hello friends,

Erica Smith from NYC here . . .

Didn't have time to post this before I left, but I'm in London April 13-20 . . . if you have any fun sessions/gigs this week, i'd love to drop by.

i'm playing a few songs at the Golden Lion on Sunday; Orrin Star is the feature act. If you like bluegrass, he's not to be missed!

Anyhow, look forward to meeting you!

Erica

Erica, you might try Sharps, at Cecil Sharp House(the EFDSS centre) on Tuesday evening it is On Gloucester avenue NW1 a short walk from Camden Town Underground,I ocassionally attend, it is usually a sorta controlled singaround..

Sharps sounds like a good idea. You could find out what else is on from there too.

This thread title - I couldn't help thinking of An American Werewolf in London. Except with a werecat instead... (That's the one with the country pub "The Slaughtered Lamb" - I've been in country pubs like that...)

Oh, London England!

Thanks everyone. I'm hoping to make it to Sharps and if possible lose myself in the library for awhile. unfortunately the Tuesday session collides with my show at the 12 bar --

will try to make the 19th, though may be in Brighton-- thank you!!

Erica (werecat of the internet cafe)

If you are interested send me a message and I'll make sure I'm down there. Martin

If you're in Brighton on the 19th you should pop along the coast to Seaford (15miles east of Brighton) on Friday night where we've got the one and only Derek Gifford performing. You'd be welcome to do a floor spot. We start at 8 ish.

Dependent on taste - I'd suggest a trip to the Jazz Cafe in Camden just by Camden tube - Sometimes its acid jazz some times its blues - sometimes its rockin but a good venue...

Try and pick up a copy of FOLK LONDON or try the April Listings on the website

Sheila Finn, the editor, works several days a week at Cecil Sharp House - so you might be able to get a copy there.

There's a very good informal session evey Thursday night in the Admiral Mann, Hargrave Place N7. This is about a mile from The Golden Lion. It starts around 9pm and is hosted by Pete Stanley who also attends the Golden Lion sessions. You'd be very welcome.
