(woo ohh, woo ohh) Along comes the worm and he was this big.(little fingers) As the song goes along the worm gradualty gets bigger. The kids show that by making there hands farther apart.

According to this thread, please click here, it is Herman the Worm, but the links to the lyrics in that thread are out of date. I am sure we can find them somewhere, though. BRB

HERMAN THE WORM
(chorus)
Sitting on my fence post chewing my bubblegum (chewing sound 4x)
Playing with my yo-yo
Weeeyooo Weeeyooo
When along came Herman the Worm and he was this big (with fingers show an inch)

And I said, "Herman, What happened?"
And he said, "I ate my father"
And I said, "Herman you're a bad bad worm"
And the very next day

(repeat chorus)
(with fingers show 4 inches)
And I said "Herman What happened?"
And he said, "I ate my mother"
And I said, "You're a bad bad worm"
And the very next day

(repeat chorus)
(with hands show a foot)
And I said "Herman What happened?"
And he said, "I ate my brother"
And I said, " Herman, you're a bad bad worm"

(repeat chorus)
(with hands show completely outstretched)
And I said, "Herman What happened?"
And he said, "I ate my sister"
Andi I said, " Herman you're a bad bad worm"

(repeat chorus)
(with fingers show a 1/4 of an inch)
And I said, "Herman, What happened?"
And he said, " I BURPED!"

The UK version is slightly less gory and is a recitation by a small 'child' with a lisp. It's called 'Cecil was a caterpillar'.

Cecil was a caterpillar, Cecil was my friend. One day, Cecil came to me and he was this big! (Hold hands about 8 inches apart) I said 'Cecil, what have you done?' And Cecil said, I've eaten all the cabbages in the garden!'.

Cecil was a caterpillar, Cecil was my friend. One day Cecil came to me and he was THIS big (hold hands about 2 feet apart), I said 'Cecil, what have you done?' And Cecil said, 'I've eaten all the cabbages in the country!'.

Cecil was a caterpillar, Cecil was my friend. One day Cecil came to me and he was THIS BIG!! (Fling hands as far apart as they will go). I said 'Cecil, what have you DONE?' And Cecil said, 'I've eaten all the cabbages in the world!'.

(with sniffles and sobs....) Cecil was a caterpillar, Cecil was my friend. One day Cecil came to me and he was THIS big (hold hands about 2 inches apart) and I said 'Cecil, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?'

And Cecil said, 'I was sick'.

Any suggestions on curing a very silly tomcat of worming? He catches them and sneaks them past me into the kitchen. Or just devours them on the front steps. I and my neighbors are totally grossed out. Quite a sight: a small tom with a huge worm dangling out both sides of his mouth. Excuse me while I am sick...
