If you just want a recording,
it's on "Friends of Mine" CD
By Ramblin Jack Elliot. And on Bob Dylan's "The Bootleg Series" Vol 1 he may have recorded it as "Blind Boy Grunt"

Authorship is still discussed, but the most likely explanation is an informal collaboration between Dave Van Ronk and Bob Dylan in the late 50's.

This song is included on an old Bobby Bare album(folk-country star of the sixties)"The Best of Bobby Bare" RCA Victor. They give credit to Harlan Howard, big time country hit writer, also of that period. Glen
