Just when you think you've seen it all!
I was previously under the impression that the "resonator" 5 string banjo (on display in Frailers, Cheshire, not for sale unfortunately),
was just about as avant garde as banjos got. obviously i was mistaken!

I'm astonished Bee-Dub. Are they stratotones or Vegacasters? Does Earl know about this?

The Banjoblaster is obviously designed for the muso who wants to sneak a banjo into a session!
RtS (difficult to disguise a washboard)

But the best one is the Deering Crossfire like Bela Fleck uses. This link Deering Crossfire
will take you to Deering's main page. You'll have to click on the Crossfire link on the page. I guess it doesn't have a separate URL.

Is this the one that he had a cambered neck specially made for?

I like it best because it still has the "pot"
I dread to think how much one of those beauties would cost over here!

Fingerbuster - If you're talking about the neck John Monteleone made, it's on Bela's pre-war Mastertone. But, I'm sure Greg Deering built the neck for Bela's Crossfire exactly to his specs. It's probably not the same neck you would find on a stock Crossfire.

Here are more pictures of the Deering Crossfire at Elderly Instruments.
