I'm looking for the sheet music for the Breton Tune "An Dros." I heard it played on the pipes recently at a renaissance festival nearby, and have heard it played on the bombarde. Having had it stuck in my head for a week or two, I'd like to just give up and learn how to play the darned song.

I have a sneaking feeling that the An Dro is a Breton dance style rather than a tune, consequently there are likely to be loads with that generic title. I have a version (tune not dance) written down which may be the relevant one. Memory fails but it may have been from a 'House Band' LP. PM me an address and I'll send you a photocopy.

I did find this un JC's tunefinder. It is described as a dance from Brittany: AN DROS.

It is a type of dance not a tune ie there are hundreds of tunes that can be described as an dros or an dro. It's rather like calling something a jig, reel, waltz or whatever.

Well, it's kinda sad...

I'm looking for the one on Clandestine's album "Music From Home." The set is called "Breton Tunes," but the song I've got stuck in my head is just calle "An Dros" in the album liner.

Anyone even heard of Clandestine?

sorry I don't know the specific An Dro you want but there are loads here, perhaps you'll find the one you want. I play 3 or 4 on the border pipes. They're fun tunes. The dance they do to them in Brittany is even more fun especially after lots of cider! ;-)

Thanks to all who replied to this thread. In the end, I wound up stumbling across it on the TuneDB for woodenflute.com. Apparently, the one I was looking for is more like two or three put together, but I found the ABC files for the different ones, so I can combine them the way I'm used to hearing them.
