Does anyone know anything of active folk musicians in Lincolnshire?

You would have thought that being a folk musician myself I would know of plenty, but sadly I don't.

I know of a few very active musicians in the North and North East bits of the county. Where abouts are you in Lincolnshire, Rik?

Excuse shameless plugging, but Jon Freeman has just got a spiffing session listing up at

Folkinfo Events

and there's a link there to the site that covers Lincolnshire. Hope to see you at the Sloop in Barton, Rik.

Type Lincolnshire into http://www.rootsource.co.uk/
I get a list of 35 event, performers, dance teams etc.

Mitch

Thanks for the mention Skipjack.

And thanks for the comments Rik. The folkinfo listing is very new although the idea stemmed from a suggestion from Skipjack at the start of folkinfo a few months ago.

About 2 days ago, we had a discussion on the subject, a couple of ideas were (rightly now I look back) rejected and plan became to use a thread of links as per Skipjack's idea. I soon decided that rather than have manual editing, the few hrs required to come up with a dynamic solution would probably save me or someone else work in the long term. The listing there now is the result of that.

Depending on usage, particularly the number of entries members may add, I may need to add a "Country filter" or make other "refinements" but I hope it will do for now it sill suffice.

I'd like to think that in time, it will become something that people visiting an area, or perhaps new to an area would find useful to get local listings. I also hope that anyone who knows a well maintained listing for thier corner of the world will submit it.

Jon
