Subject: Charlie Lennon's/Hut on Staten Island From: GUEST,Tim Date: 31 Oct 02 - 08:36 AM I'm looking for an ABC for a tune listed as "Charlie Lennon's/The Hut on Staten Island" on Kevin Griffin's CD Traditional Irish Music from Doolin, Co. Clare. I've tried all the ABC searches on the web and found similar titles, but they're not the same tune. Anyone have a lead? Thanks! |

Subject: RE: Charlie Lennon's/Hut on Staten Island From: Skipjack K8 Date: 31 Oct 02 - 08:45 AM Phil Cunningham wrote 'The Hut on Staffen Island', which is wonderfully reproduced on the Kathryn Tickell CD Debateable Lands. Is that the one? |

Subject: RE: Charlie Lennon's/Hut on Staten Island From: TIA Date: 31 Oct 02 - 11:43 AM Skipjack K8 -- you're a genius. I found a sound clip that confirms that I am seeking Hut of Staffen Island. Thanks for the offer of chords, but I'm seeking tadpoles for a my tadpole fiddle player. If anyone can steer me to ABC or sheet music, it will save me from sitting down and working it out. Guest -- direct all spelling disputes to Ms. Tickell or Mr. Cunningham. Thanks!!!!!!! |

Subject: RE: Charlie Lennon's/Hut on Staten Island From: Peter Kasin Date: 31 Oct 02 - 11:20 PM Keep in mind that it is indeed "Staffin," not "Staffen," if you're looking for info on it on the net. It was recorded by the band "Relativity," which was brothers Phil and John Cunningham, and brother and sister Micheal O Domhnaill and Triona Ni Domhnaill, on the album also titled Relativity. Just to add to Andrea's post, the book The Cunningham Collection is subtitled The Rose, etc., not the tune, in case there's any confusion there. It's full of great tunes! Happy hunting.
