I've taken some pictures of the square-rigged ship Balclutha at Hyde Street Pier in San Francisco that are now posted in the photos section of Mudcat. In time I'll also add photos of the other ships and of the shanty sings.

CLICK HERE for a link to a web site about the Balclutha. I had no idea until radriano posted these pictures.

Thanks radriano!

Great pictures, Richard. And thanks for the link to the web site, Naemanson. I haven't actually looked at it in years, and it's been spiffed up quite a bit.

I guess I'm going to have to make my way out west some one of these days to take a look at what they've got on the water out there.

Hey, it's El Swanno!

I'm doin' great, Dave. Happy New Year right back at 'ya. Camp Harmony has energized me and I'm ready for anything. I figure if I can find a pair of those shoes with the little wheels on them I can use my canes to propel myself along at a faster pace. Hmm, then I'll have to get a helmet and knee pads too, huh?

Hugs and kisses to Pam. Hope to see you guys soon.

Richard

For those who like that sort of thing; The Star of India was in San Diego many years ago when I was stationed there. It's probably still there. A fine looking ship. They used to put little trees on the yard arms for Xmas. Looked strange.
