Subject: Origins: Muckle Clydesdales? From: GUEST,Jacqued Date: 13 Mar 03 - 02:58 PM I recently heard a song abut the last pair of working Clydesdale horses, it could have been entitled The Muckle Clydesdales or The Last Walk Home. It was terrifically evocative and I wonder if anyone could give me the originas of the song and who recorded it? Many thanks. |

Subject: RE: Origins: Muckle Clydesdales? From: GUEST,Strollin' Johnny Date: 14 Mar 03 - 07:18 AM I'm sure it's Davy's song. He came with Patsy to a Poozies concert I attended at Corringham, Lincs, did a 'guest appearance' and sang the song. I think it's called 'The Last Walk Home', but maybe 'The Muckle Horses' was a sub-title? Whatever, hearing him sing it accompanied by the Poozies is a wonderful memory. I'm sure he told us he'd written it for the 'Leaving Friday Harbour' album. Davy was a great guy, and a fabulous performer and writer - listen to 'Norland Wind' or 'The Beaches of St. Valery' and you'll know what I mean. The world's a much, much poorer place without him. RIP. Johnny |
