Subject: Morris on Emmerdale? From: Geoff the Duck Date: 06 May 03 - 02:07 PM Yesterday was Bank Holiday Monday, and we were travelling home from Upton upon Severn folk festival, so didn't see any television. Today on Emmerdale farm, the pub staff were talking about a Morris Team almost drinking them dry. We did not see the episode, so are curious about what was shown. Was there a real set of dancers shown, and if so who? If real dancers, were they drinking real ale, and if so - How Much did they REALLY get through? Just curious! Quack! Geoff. |

Subject: RE: Morris on Emmerdale? From: Bernard Date: 06 May 03 - 07:29 PM Erm... the Earl of Stamford Morris were on Hollyoaks a couple of years ago! And if you keep your eyes open at the beginning and end of the ad breaks, you'll see us briefly at the top left corner of the screen - though you need wide-screen to see me and my big accordion, or you'll just see my elbow! We got paid very handsomely for our appearance! |

Subject: RE: Morris on Emmerdale? From: bill\sables Date: 07 May 03 - 12:30 PM When I was working for Yorkshire TV, the company who films Emmerdale, we often had Morris sides in the earlier episodes and village ceileidhs. The company usually got the sides and bands reccomended by Graham Binless who was the Northern EFDSS rep. As to drinking, the ale given to both actors and extras is a very mild shandy because of an episode when Fraser Hines, who played Joe Sugden, had to quickly down a pint and leave the pub. We rehearsed the scene about four times and then did about five takes because Joe kept sluring and forgeting his lines. In the end we called a coffee break so as he could sober up. Bill |

Subject: RE: Morris on Emmerdale? From: treewind Date: 07 May 03 - 03:39 PM I was in the second Hammersmith gen game show - the one where they danced across the stage while a rock'n'roll band were playing... bizarre! I believe Rag Morris from Bristol have been on the Archers but I don't know if it's them every time. Anahata |

Subject: RE: Morris on Emmerdale? From: Alexis Date: 08 May 03 - 07:42 AM To follow the claims to fame on TV, Slubbing Billy's appeared in Fanny and Elvis a couple of years ago. The dancing was cut, but dancers appeared in the pub scene, drinking. A fairly natural place to be Alex |
