As a past member of Lindsey, the group that started the club at the Royal Oak, I was really sad to see that it had closed.
Anyone know why?
It was started as a friendly alternative to the very good, but slighty formal, Grimsby Folk Club.

It had a good run and some good people kept it going after we'd left.
Did it run out of steam or was there some other reason for its demise?

Love to hear fro anyonewho knows

it ran out of steam
Roger Beard who ran it last had other commitments and no one else would take it on
it ran last year as a free session for a few months but now that has sadly gone
i agree its sad to see it go but it proves the old adage....if yoiu don't use it you lose it

the sunday folk club is still going strong
its now at The Spider's Web and will open again after the summer break on Sept 7
