the film that was to be called the 'Ceili Wars' is now titled 'The Boys from County Clare', by John Irvin, about fiddling brothers in rival ceili bands, will be at the Toronto Film Festival. It's scheduled for Friday, September 12 6:30 PM as part of the Viacom Gala Festival in the Roy Thompson Hall Theater, downtown

This finally made it to New York under the title, "The Boys and Girl from County Clare," about as cumbersome a title as could be imagined. It seems to have been dumped here during the week of St. Patrick's Day.

There were only about 30 people at the Saturday night 7:15 show, but I had a good time. I'll see Colm Meany in anything, and Andrea Corr is lovely.

I'd name the tunes the rival ceili bands play in the film, but I'm not that knowledgeable.

When the DVD comes out, I'm going to watch the subtitled version, because switching back and forth between Irish and Liverpudlian dialects made me miss a good quarter of the dialogue!

'The Boys and girl from County Clare' This film now availale from play.com for £5.99 in their spring sale. it's got Andrea Corr (Cor !!) in it as well as Bernard Hill.Also available for region one from same people. I just got it ordered. Just though someone might be interested.

I know a few of the musicaians in it as it was filmed in Glenarm Co.Antrim about 9 miles from were I live

Netflix also has it. It was a lot of fun watching it; really enjoyed the music, of course!
