Subject: RE: BS: Neilson Follows Shatner's lead From: Little Hawk Date: 01 Oct 03 - 05:17 PM ZING! Did I hear the Great Shatner's name? Leslie Nielsen is a mere johnny-come-lately compared to Bill, but he has done some amusing stuff here and there. Meanwhile, the WSSBA is busy adding a new guest wing to handle the flood of visitors pouring in from all over the World, united in one common desire: to learn everything there is to learn about William Shatner, the greatest dramatic actor of this (or any) age. It's a heady time to be alive, folks! - LH |

Subject: RE: BS: Neilson Follows Shatner's lead From: Little Hawk Date: 01 Oct 03 - 05:35 PM Y'know...it's a shame that Canadians can't run for President of the USA, because then William Shatner would be a shoo-in for the Oval Office, and things would never be the same again. People would speak of events that happened BS and AS...before Shatner and after Shatner. Or maybe it would be BBS and ABS, come to think of it... Leslie Nielsen could be Secretary of State or something like that. Jim Carrey could be the VP. I think it would be a big improvement, eh? - LH |

Subject: RE: BS: Neilson Follows Shatner's lead From: Mickey191 Date: 01 Oct 03 - 05:35 PM Is it an acting school? Tell me it is--his gifts must be passed on. In N.Y. we have the Actor's Studio. Let's suggest some names. Will this be in Canada? Shatner Thespian Institute of Greater Sudbury ? |

Subject: RE: BS: Neilson Follows Shatner's lead From: Little Hawk Date: 02 Oct 03 - 12:33 PM No, no, it's already in existence...in Orillia, Ontario (the home of Gordon Lightfoot, by the way). The William Shatner School of BAAAAAD Acting is located just minutes of out beautiful downtown Orillia in a pristine country setting, utilizing the natural beauty of Simcoe Country to recreate alien landscaps on 15 (count 'em), 15 different worlds, most of which contain somewhat scantily clad female nymphet-type aliens in tight-fitting costumes, and really ugly male aliens with lots of facial bumps and hair and stuff, so that you know right away that they're not human. It's a blast. Be sure to visit when you come to Canada, eh? Orillia is also the world capital of McGill Porta-Potties, which come in a lovely shade of green and work really great. Beauty, eh? - LH |

Subject: RE: BS: Neilson Follows Shatner's lead From: Nerd Date: 02 Oct 03 - 01:33 PM I would beg to differ that Nielsen is a mere Johnny-Come-Lately, though. Forbidden Planet, which starred Nielsen, was a GREAT cheesy 1950s sci-fi flick with Shakespearian pretensions, back when Shatner could only dream of such a role. And in terms of the self-deprecating comedy, Shatner was the "joiner" when he signed on for Airplane 2, after Nielsen had already starred in the original! Seems to me, though I am a HUGE Bill Shatner fan, that he is only following in the footsteps of the TRUE master! |

Subject: RE: BS: Neilson Follows Shatner's lead From: Little Hawk Date: 04 Oct 03 - 12:31 PM These are some of the most scurrilous and slanderous comments I've heard in some time. Leslie Nielson couldn't act his way out of a wet paper bag. Shatner IS a wet paper bag. A really big one. |
